With Hope in My Heart: A Memoir

WHIH cover

‘With Hope in My Heart’ is a heartwarming and funny memoir.

Back cover blurb:

In this ‘can’t put down’ moving and candid memoir, Baylissa Frederick reflects on her survival of an intense withdrawal experience and the lessons learned. From dependency, destitution and disastrous dates to recovery and revival, she relates her story with humour, simplicity and grace. You will be moved and ultimately inspired by this account of survival against insurmountable odds.

A reader’s review:

‘A ‘must read’ and ‘can’t put down’ book

This is an entertaining as well as informative book about prescription drug withdrawal. Bliss has put a ‘real life’ context to withdrawal by describing what her life was like through her experience whilst highlighting many amusing, uplifting, and challenging incidents she went through on her way to recovery.
It’s a fun, ‘must read’ for both sufferers and non-sufferers of withdrawal. Sufferers will empathize with Bliss’ experiences and find it comforting, and at times amusing, to recognize many experiences similar to their own described by Bliss, and non-sufferers will gain valuable insight as to what real life can be like for somebody recovering from prescription medication while trying to cope with life. As a person who has been through the withdrawal experience I highly recommend this book.’

Recovery and Renewal

This widely successful book is an essential guide for counsellors, doctors, other healthcare professionals, family members and anyone affected by dependency and withdrawal from sleeping pills, other benzodiazepines and antidepressants. Drawn from the author’s personal experience with discontinuing a benzodiazepine prescribed for her dystonia (a neurological condition causing involuntary movements), her many years of supporting others in withdrawal, and her counselling training and expertise, it focuses on healing and empowerment and includes coping tips, success stories, description of symptoms and everything else one needs to know in order to self-care and succesfully overcome this experience.

With over 200 positive Amazon reviews (US, UK and CA), Recovery and Renewal is regarded as a ‘lifeline’ and readers are inspired by the author’s courage and determination.
